Christmas Items

Evergreens– We have most evergreen items in stock and more arriving every day. Prebook only items most likely are no longer available if you haven’t ordered them yet.

Poinsettias– We have a selection now and will continue to have more arriving every day as we move into December. As usual will have a mix of our top quality local products as well as some cheaper pre-book offerings for your bulk needs.

Novelty

Dogwood/Ilex/Winterberry- We have Red Twig Dogwood and Red, Yellow and Orange Ilex/Winterberry coming from several sources now. These are a great to your Fall and Winter designs.

Stock– Stock production has bounced back. We were surprised to see offers from growers in the Baja already, almost a month earlier than usual.

Larkspur– We are still seeing Larkspur for next week. This is much deeper into the season than we have seen in recent years, but expect it to end completely very soon.

Heather– There has been a steady flow for the last few weeks. Don’t let this fool you. The demand for heather this time of year is not great. We expect we will begin to see the effects of the closure of the large producer once demand kicks in.

Protea and Leucadendron– This is the peak season for leucadendron. Unfortunately it seems the hot dry weather took its toll on the Safari Sunset crop and it was a struggle to find good quality. The pink protea from CA has begun to increase as will the selection of varieties.Banksia protea from California is limited.

South African Items– Check out some of these cool South African items coming in now:

Sunflowers– There is only one local supplier in production. Most local suppliers are done for the season. We will be increasing our purchase from South America and California to meet demand.

Roses

Colors- Non seasonal colors are in good supply and priced reasonably. We won’t see much changing here until we get to VALENTINES DAY. We have a good supply of Oranges and fall colors coming in but we will look to sell them all by next week. After Thanksgiving nobody will want them.

Reds- There is still a good supply and prices haven’t changed. We expect that the week after Thanksgiving, farms will start to raise their prices and by the 2nd week of December, we will see a drastic increase. The third week of December prices will be significantly higher.

Basics

Alstro– We have a good supply of Orange and other fall colors, but we expect to sell out by Monday or Tuesday. Historically, the demand for Assorted boxes of Alstro drops dramatically from the 3rd week of November through December.  We will be cutting back on open market purchases of Assorted Alstro.

Carnations and Mini Carnations– We have some Fall mixes available but expect to sell out by early next week. We should have some solid colors available through the holiday.

Fillers– We have a good supply of Gyp, Limonium, and Statice. Laceflower availability is tightening up and prices are ticking upwards. Gyp will start to become less available moving into December as farms start working towards production for Valentine’s Day.

Lilies– We have a good supply of Fall colors available through this weekend, but expect to start running out Monday or Tuesday. Production of White Orientals is even lower then expected for the next few weeks. Expect very little availability of 2-bloom selections.

Mums and Poms– Most farms finished their production of Fall colors a little early. What we have here and already coming in will be the last of those items. Fall Disbuds and Red Morgans are selling out quickly. We still have some Assorted Fall Poms. Heading into December, We expect Red Tornado Disbuds, Red Atlantis Daisy and Red Rock Cushions to be available for most of the month, but remember these are not Christmas Red items.
