Recipe of the Week

Coleen, DV Events Division, is here to show you her fall inspiration in this week’s recipe and give you examples on how to create this design on a budget.

Do you want to create an Opulent Autumn look but not sure where to start? Classic moody hues with berries and fruits will always do the trick! You want to allow each flower to have its moment and leave enough space between the flowers for a natural progression that creates a perception of movement and flow. Do you want the look of brass or metal without breaking the bank? Try this trick… use a plastic container in a classic or shape that fits the look, then paint with metallic paint (brass/ copper/ platinum etc.) then immediately after spraying use any type of dustpan brush to create texture. I prefer to use a black container (or dark) because it can give a brushed brass or nickel look if you apply more pressure. It makes for a great looking, very affordable fake that you don’t need to go back and pick up after events… 🙂
