Warehouse Distribution Supervisor – Outbound Logistics/Package Handling

Overall purpose of this position:  To manage with precision and a high sense of urgency, the loading and departure of 15-20 outbound line hauls per night, and 15,000-20,000 packages per night.   To ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all packages being staged on the floor or delivered via tractor trailer to our Distribution teams.  To ensure proper cube/space utilization of the entire distribution floor, and also of outbound trailers.  Ensure proper pallet building and integrity of all product/pallets staged on trailers and on the floor.  Provide the proper training, tools and communication for employees to meet or exceed departmental and individual goals.  Manage labor budget for your area.  Continually identify opportunities for process improvement.   

Schedule: This is a Sunday to Thursday, Second Shift position, with additional days/hours as necessary

Qualifications (specific knowledge, training, or skills required to perform the duties of this position):

  • Supervisor or work leader with the necessary analytical, communication, leadership, and team building skills to lead 20-25 people in a warehouse environment driven by accurate and timely customer order fulfillment
  • Logistics or warehouse experience with use of material handling equipment and RF Scanners
  • Prior knowledge/experience working with or handling with fresh flowers (or other perishables) is preferred

This position is responsible for the collections of a DVFG portfolio, analyzing delinquent accounts, preparing reports on high risk accounts, posting customer payments, reconciling customer accounts, and performing various billing functions. This individual will adjust credit limits based on policy, conduct credit investigations, and communicate all credit related issues to Sr. Credit Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years B2B collection, accounts receivable and customer relations experience.

Description:

The PT Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for routine general maintenance and repairs to all facets of the refrigerated warehouse, as well as performs complex day-to-day repairs on distribution center equipment. This position will also provide general maintenance and construction support to the distribution center office as needed.

DUTIES:

  • Perform general construction that involves the reconfiguration of offices, additions to buildings, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all facets of the refrigeration equipment and distribution center equipment and machines, such as conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
  • Control the equipment set points to accommodate the needs of our customers and to maintain the quality of our product.
  • Ability to construct, disassemble, and repair storage equipment (i.e. pallet racking, CFR racking and shelving).
  • Ability to maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical and plumbing problems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Work directly with outside contractors as needed assuring all equipment is maintained allowing for continuous operation of distribution center.

  • Construction experience (construct/remove walls, drywall, etc)
  • Refrigeration experience (cold storage/refrigerated warehousing) required.

Distribution Manager

The Distribution Manager organizes and oversees the efficient and orderly flow of loading and delivery operations at the distribution center.

These duties include, but are not limited to:

  • The printing, organizing, and assignment of loading manifests, invoices and pertinent customer delivery information to our route drivers.

  • Qualified candidates should have a working knowledge of the mid-Atlantic areas, including a familiarity with main traffic arteries, areas of chronic congestion and general approaches to metro areas.
  • Familiarity and efficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a plus
  • Management of all areas of transportation to include safety, transportation, DOT regulation, compliance, P and L responsibility, budgeting, distribution and customer service.
  • Management of assigned direct reports to include employee relation issues, performance management, new employee training and development.
  • The ideal candidate should also possess the people skills to deal with driver disputes, customer complaints and concerns, specific requests from customers and reassignment of workloads from driver to driver.
