General Warehouse Positions

Delaware Valley Floral Group is looking to pre-qualify candidates for our upcoming busy season. These temporary/seasonal positions in Receiving, Picking/Packing and Material Handling will be working in our warehouse/cooler environment, which maintains a temperature of 34 degrees year-round.  These positions generally work Sunday – Thursday from 3 pm to finish (additional hours/days may be added so flexibility is a must).

Past experience is preferred. Receiving and Material Handling candidates must be able to lift 50+ pounds, have experience with pallet jacks, and be familiar with RF Scanning.

PT Maintenance Mechanic

Description:

The PT Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for routine general maintenance and repairs to all facets of the refrigerated warehouse, as well as performs complex day-to-day repairs on distribution center equipment. This position will also provide general maintenance and construction support to the distribution center office as needed.

DUTIES:

  • Perform general construction that involves the reconfiguration of offices, additions to buildings, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all facets of the refrigeration equipment and distribution center equipment and machines, such as conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
  • Control the equipment set points to accommodate the needs of our customers and to maintain the quality of our product.
  • Ability to construct, disassemble, and repair storage equipment (i.e. pallet racking, CFR racking and shelving).
  • Ability to maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical and plumbing problems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Work directly with outside contractors as needed assuring all equipment is maintained allowing for continuous operation of distribution center.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Construction experience (construct/remove walls, drywall, etc)
  • Refrigeration experience (cold storage/refrigerated warehousing) required.
  • Previous general maintenance experience required

Distribution Manager

The Distribution Manager organizes and oversees the efficient and orderly flow of loading and delivery operations at the distribution center.

These duties include, but are not limited to:

  • The printing, organizing, and assignment of loading manifests, invoices and pertinent customer delivery information to our route drivers.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior management experience required.
  • Qualified candidates should have a working knowledge of the mid-Atlantic areas, including a familiarity with main traffic arteries, areas of chronic congestion and general approaches to metro areas.
  • Familiarity and efficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a plus
  • Management of all areas of transportation to include safety, transportation, DOT regulation, compliance, P and L responsibility, budgeting, distribution and customer service.
  • Management of assigned direct reports to include employee relation issues, performance management, new employee training and development.
  • The ideal candidate should also possess the people skills to deal with driver disputes, customer complaints and concerns, specific requests from customers and reassignment of workloads from driver to driver.

Warehouse Picking/Production Supervisor

Sewell, NJ | PM Shift

Job Description:
The overall purpose of this position is to ensure timely and accurate picking of all loose pick flowers for customer orders for next day delivery, as well as ensure that all replenishment, product rotation, and inventory accuracy of all loose pick items. This is a production-type, fast-paced operation that involves the picking of product and a continuous moving conveyer system routing product through to packing and the final end point in material handling.

This role also helps to provide the proper coaching, training, tools and communication for employees to meet or exceed departmental and individual goals. Manage labor budget and forecasting for loose pick flowers. Continually identify opportunities for process improvement.
Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to work Sunday – Thursday, 2:00 pm to finish of night operations. Flexibility due to additional days/hours during peak periods is required.
