Yearly Standing Orders

Cream of The Crop Farm Direct – 2010 – 2011

This Monday, November 1st is the starting week for this year’s standing order program. We would like to thank everyone that renewed their weekly standing orders and to all those shops that are new to our Farm Direct weekly program. There has been a lot of effort by our Product Managers and every farm to institute this program as flawlessly as possible.

Thank you from everyone at Delaware Valley Wholesale and our participating farms.

This time of year is more than just the starting of our customer standing orders; it is also the starting of our company’s standing orders. As a wholesaler we also make a commitment to farms for the number of cases that we will take on standing order weekly for the year, to cover open market sales. Weekly our product managers try to determine what additional amounts will be needed above our standing to meet market demand.

This is very challenging every week! As you are aware, so many things can and will affect what your weekly needs will be. As a buyer (for your shop or DV) the importance of not over estimating and throwing out product or under estimating market needs, will impact customer satisfaction, lost sales and profitability.  Our customers can purchase any day their demand increase and receive delivery the following day. Our product manager must anticipate our (your) needs from seven to fourteen days out based on the products. Once an advance buy is made, so many obstacles can affect a timely delivery and fulfillment of an order from the weather to transportation via flight and long haul trucks. We thank you for your understanding and would like to assure you as a company Delaware Valley Wholesale makes every effort humanly possible to meet and exceed our customers needs.

Not to be picky, but isn’t today November 1st?…not the 11th!
    Otherwise good information!

Oops, thanks for the heads up Robin. The days are moving by fast enough…we don’t need to rush anything!
